“We have been pleased with the performance of the shares that we have in India and as a result the weightage in our portfolio is the biggest for India,” Mobius said.
“We have been focusing more on the infrastructure in India and also on the technology side,” he said.
Technology is the largest single sector in our portfolio, he said. “What we are doing is not necessarily focusing on the internet or telecoms but we are focusing on nuts and bolts of technology,” Mobius said.
Pfizer has discovered a vaccine with over 90 percent effectiveness. Mobius thinks the vaccine trade still has to play out. “I don’t refer to Pfizer vaccine. There are number of other vaccines in the pipeline. In addition to that there are treatments that are coming into fore which will help treat patients that have COVID-19,” he added.
In terms of telecom, Mobius said, “Telecom is the backbone of a lot of things we are doing. We have to look at telecoms but telecoms are quite heavily regulated. So we look at those areas that are related to telecoms such as software and hardware but are not necessarily regulated. That means anything related to the cloud and that sort of thing.”
