NMDC’s November iron ore output rises 11% on-year; sales up 4.3%

State-run NMDC reported an 11% rise in November iron ore production to 5.01 mt, while sales grew 4.3% to 4.17 mt year-on-year.

State-run NMDC Ltd reported an 11% year-on-year increase in iron ore production for November, rising to 5.01 million tonnes (mt) from 4.51 mt a year ago.


Monthly sales also improved 4.3%, touching 4.17 mt versus 4 mt in November 2024, according to provisional data submitted to the exchanges.


Production growth was driven by both key mining regions. Output in Chhattisgarh rose to 3.58 mt from 3.27 mt, while Karnataka delivered 1.43 mt, up from 1.24 mt last year.


Cumulative production for April–November reached 31.48 mt, compared with 26.06 mt in the same period last year, while cumulative sales stood at 30.28 mt, up from 27.84 mt.


Earlier NMDC reported a strong September-quarter performance, with net profit rising 41% year-on-year to ₹1,683 crore, ahead of market expectations.

Revenue increased 30% to ₹6,378 crore, supported by robust realisations and higher volumes. EBITDA rose 44% to ₹1,993 crore, and margins expanded 300 bps to 31.2%, though still slightly below the forecasted 34%.


Ahead of the November update, shares of NMDC closed 2.07% higher at ₹75.45 on the NSE.
