MSCI Global Standard Index rejig effective from tomorrow: What to watch out for

Tomorrow (November 27) is the last day of MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital Investment) Global Standard Index rebalancing, which is widely used by international fund houses for benchmarking global equities portfolios.

According to the latest MSCI Global Standard Index rejig announcement, 12 companies, including Trent and Kotak Mahindra Bank, have been added, while Bosch and LIC Housing Finance will move out.

Other who made their way to the MSCI index are ACC, Adani Green Energy, Apollo Hospitals, Balkrishna Industries, IPCA Laboratories, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Larsen & Toubro Infotech, MRF, Muthoot Finance, PI Industries, Trent Limited and YES Bank.

In terms of larger stock impact, it would be in the shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank and Adani Green, as these two have the highest weightages. Also, there will be massive inflows in to these stocks. So those are the two stocks to watch out. Two big surprises in the additions were Trent and YES Bank and markets were not expecting those names.
