How Sensex, Nifty fared on last three Lok Sabha election results day

S&P BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 has always been under-pressure on election results day. In all these years of elections, the two Indian equity benchmark indices have remained extremely cautious of the investors behaviour.
However, the biggest gain on Sensex and Nifty was witnessed during 2009 general elections. On May 18, 2009, Sensex rose 17 percent to 14,284.21, and Nifty 50 surged 18 percent to 4,323.15.
