Over 14 crore voters will be deciding the fate of 1,279 candidates in 91 constituencies across India as voting in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections begins on Thursday.
People in the Northeastern states kicked-off the world’s largest election process on Thursday. More than 1.70 lakh polling booths are set up across 20 states and Union Territories.
If phase 1 voters were to form a separate country, it would be the 10th largest nation in the world.
