Rupee hits fresh record low of 73 against US dollar, bond yields spike

At 09:15 AM, the rupee was trading at 73.30 a dollar, up 7 paise, from its Monday’s close of 72.91.
The yields on the 10-year government bonds spiked 0.76 percent to 8.05 percent after closing at 7.99 percent on Monday.
Indian financial, debt and currency markets were shut on Tuesday for a public holiday.
