Oil prices extend gains amid Middle East tensions, US-China trade deal hopes

Brent crude futures were up 34 cents, or 0.6 percent, at $62.48 a barrel by 0028 GMT. They rose 2 percent on Tuesday.
US West Texas Intermediate crude gained 44 cents, or 0.8 percent, to $54.34 a barrel. The US benchmark surged 3.8 percent in the last session.
