Oil demand in India likely to recover to pre-COVID levels in 2021, says S&P Global Platts

Zhuwei Wang, Lead Analyst for Middle East Oil Markets at S&P Global Platts, on Friday said he sees positive signals from Indian oil demand in terms of auto demand.

“In terms of India, if you look at the numbers in the past four months, we have already seen very positive signals from Indian oil demand in terms of the auto demand. Looking forward despite the huge amount of pressure in terms of continuous spreading of the virus, we are still seeing that in 2021 India is likely to recover back to pre-COVID levels,” said Zhuwei Wang said in an interview with CNBC-TV18.

“We still maintain a very positive signal in terms of demand recovery in China. Percentagewise we are seeing this year Chinese degree of demand growth will be higher than the last year,” he said.
