Bullish on financials, industrials and consumer discretionaries: Atman Capital

Shreyas Attavar, Portfolio Manager at Atman Capital Management discussed the fundamentals of the market.

“Today we see value in the financial space,” he said in an interview with CNBC-TV18.

“We like some of the lenders. We think some of the large frontline lenders have provisioned adequately and they have also raised debt and equity capital in the last few months,” he said.

He likes industrials and consumer discretionaries also. “We think they can grow at a higher multiple to the economy. We definitely like that space,” he mentioned.

“Within the consumer discretionary, we like auto OEMs, two-wheeler companies for a while given the tailwind of consumers preferring personal transport over shared transport or public transport,” he said.

“Provided the economic recovery comes through, there is scope for the broader markets outside the frontline indices to do well. That is where we would be looking to generate alpha,” he said.
