The Bombay High Court ruled against Aggarwal saying that he must pay the bill amount in addition to an 18 percent interest as demanded by IHCL, the report said, adding that an additional Rs 6 lakh was asked by the court to pay towards litigation costs.
In a revenge move, Aggarwal had filed a complaint against an independent director of IHCL and when not acted upon the complaint, he checked into Taj Wellington Residences and rented a 5,000 sq ft penthouse with his family on May 1, 2015, and checked out on July 31, 2015, without paying the bill, the report added.
