Singh brothers to have separate counsels in Daiichi Sankyo case, says report
Malvinder Singh and Shivinder Singh will be represented by separate counsels in the case filed by Daiichi Sankyo to enforce the Rs 3,500 crore arbitration award against the Singh brothers, reported Mint.
The two brothers were represented by separate counsels in the hearing of the matter on September 5, a day after Shivinder filed a case of “oppression” against Malvinder and family friend Sunil Godhwani.
“It has been decided that they will be represented by separate legal counsels…In the last hearing on 5 September, Akhil Sibal argued on behalf of Malvinder Singh, while a separate counsel, Sandeep Sethi, was present on behalf of Shivinder Singh,” a person close to the development told Mint.
The decision to be represented by separate counsels reveals the straining relations between the two following the fall of fortunes, the report said.
