Bengaluru police have seized the first ever Bitcoin ATM in the country and arrested Harish BV who operated the kiosk, reported The Times of India.

Bengaluru police have seized the first ever Bitcoin ATM in the country and arrested Harish BV who operated the kiosk, reported The Times of India.
The police arrested Harish, co-founder of Unocoin Technologies, for operating the device illegally without any approvals from authorities. Harish was produced to the court, which sent him to police custody for seven days, the report said.
According to the report, in addition to the kiosk, the police also seized ‘two laptops, a mobile, three credit cards, five debit cards,  a passport, five seals of Unocoin company, a cryptocurrency device and Rs 1.8 lakh.’
The Bitcoin ATM was installed at Kemp Fort Mall on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru.
