Antigua government to revoke citizenship for Mehul Choksi, says no safe harbour for criminals

Choksi, a co-accused in the Rs 14,000 crore Punjab National Bank fraud, and an uncle of fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi, took citizenship of Antigua last year, after stringent background checks including engagement with regional and international intelligence agencies.
Choksi has been wanted by the Criminal Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate in India.
India has been pursuing the government of Antigua through diplomatic and legal channels to extradite Choksi and put in a request for the same, last year in August.
