Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday chaired a meeting of the NITI Aayog where he asked all state governments to use LED lights in offices, government buildings and streets.
Shekhar Bajaj, chairman and managing director of Bajaj Electricals said, “If the state and centre use more LED, finally power will be available and when we are looking out for Make in India, it is important that we should have more power available otherwise you cannot increase your production. So, it is a very good move by the Prime Minister to make that compulsory."
Amritanshu Khaitan, managing director, Eveready India said, “For us, about 20 percent of our revenue coming out of the LED business."
“We personally believe that margins on LED business are on slightly the lower side but it adds a lot of scale,” he further mentioned.
