Defence ministry official put on record objection to Rafale deal, says report
Updated : September 27, 2018 10:20 AM IST
The then joint secretary & acquisition manager (Air) raised the concerns and was responsible for the initiation of the note for Cabinet’s approval.
The objections delayed the Cabinet note and the signing happened after his objections were “overruled” by another senior defence ministry official.
The note is with the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) and CAG is likely to submit the report in the winter session of Parliament in December. The report is likely to refer to the note containing the objections raised by the official and how those were overruled, The Indian Express reported citing sources.
