Manipal Hospitals eyes Rs 5,800 crore deal to buy Medanta, says report

Cardiac surgeon Naresh Trehan and his family and co-founder Sunil Sachdeva jointly own 55 percent in the Medanta hospital chain and are set to sell their entire stake, the report said.
Manipal has begun due diligence on Medanta assets and the agreement is likely to be signed in the next 60 days.
Ranjan Pai, CEO and managing director, Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG) owns 60 percent in Manipal and most of the financing will be done by him through equity and internal accruals, the report said.
