As large healthcare chains are looking at expanding their footprint, Malaysia based IHH Healthcare and Indian conglomerate Hinduja Group are looking to run operations of Mumbai’s Jaslok Hospital, reported The Economic Times.
The Hospital trusts in India are looking increasingly to hand over their operations to healthcare companies, which can bring in advanced, global medical practices and a higher level of professionalism, the report said.
IHH Healthcare, which recently won the bid to acquire debt-laden Fortis healthcare, and the Hinduja Group are in talks with the 348-bed multispecialty south-Mumbai based hospital to take over its operations, the report added.
Mumbai, which is dominated by singular trust hospitals saw KKR-backed Radiant Life Care taking over Nanavati Hospital’s operations in 2014, while Bengaluru based Narayana Health had a similar arrangement with Mumbai’s SRCC Children’s Hospital, the daily said.
