RBI's capital adequacy move to boost banks' lending by Rs 3 lakh crore: report

The centre will also see a decline in the capital infusion requirement in public sector banks after the relaxation of one component in the capital adequacy norms, the report said, adding that the government, in return will be able to save up to Rs 35,000 crore in the current fiscal year.
Post the RBI Board meeting on Monday, the RBI announced that it has extended the deadline for banks to lift the capital conservation buffers further by a year, as it retained the capital adequacy ratio at 9 percent, the report added.
