The registration of the mobile phone number can be done either through visiting the bank’s branch, online mode or via ATM. Failing to which the user will blocked from accessing internet banking facility through the account.

The State Bank of India (SBI) customers who are yet to link their mobile phone numbers with their accounts will soon be blocked from accessing internet banking facility with immediate effect from December 1

The official website of the SBI said, "As per RBI advisory, it is mandatory to register your mobile number to avail internet banking services. Please register your mobile number by 30.11.2018, failing which your internet banking access will be deactivated/blocked w.e.f from 01.12.2018."
The country's largest lender announced through its website that people who fail to link the account before November 30 will lose internet banking facility for their accounts with the bank.
Here is how customers who are yet to link the mobile number can do this without getting the internet banking facility blocked.
Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Mode
The registration of the mobile phone number can be done either through visiting the bank’s branch, online mode or via ATM. Customers using ATM for the process can do it by swiping their card and clicking on the registration option on the ATM. The user should then provide his PIN followed by the option for mobile number registration. Following this, customers mobile number should be provided by selecting on the ‘correct’ option.
After this is done, a message will appear on the screen acknowledging the completion of the process. But the registration is yet to be finished. The user will get a call from the bank within 72 hours besides a reference number that will send to the phone via SMS. Once these details are verified, the process will be completed.
Online Mode
Users can do the registration by logging in to the banks portal, i.e. www.onlinesbi.com. In the "My Accounts” section, there will be “Profile-Personal Details-Change mobile No.” option. The user should select this option and after entering the next page select the account number, input the mobile number and click on submit. The process is now complete and the user will now be able to see the last two digits of the mobile phone number.
Other than these, customers can do the registration process by visiting a SBI branch and submitting a letter of request.
