Petrol, diesel prices unchanged for 2nd straight day; check rates here

According to the Indian Oil Corp data, in New Delhi, petrol costs Rs 72.86 per litre and diesel Rs 66.49 per litre. In Kolkata and Chennai, petrol stood at Rs 74.93 per litre and Rs 75.67 per litre while diesel stood at Rs 68.28 per litre and Rs 70.26 a litre, respectively.

Petrol and diesel prices were unchanged across major cities for a second consecutive day on Wednesday. The petrol price in Mumbai stood at Rs 78.48 a litre while diesel was at Rs 69.64 per litre, at par with November 2018 levels.

Domestic fuel prices have largely been on an upward movement during the first three months of 2019. In Delhi, petrol prices rose over Rs 4 per litre since January 1.
The uptrend in domestic prices is largely attributed to the bullish global crude oil prices.
Brent was down by 12 cents, or 0.2 percent, at $67.85 by 0010 GMT. On Tuesday, the global benchmark rose 76 cents to $67.97 a barrel, not far below its year-to-date high of $68.69, reached on March 21. US crude futures fell 9 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $59.85. .
As per the country's dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon international fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.
