Petrol price fell on Thursday for the ninth straight day in a row as Indian Oil, India's largest retailer, reduced petrol prices by 9 paise, while diesel prices were cut by 8 paise in Mumbai.
Petrol now costs Rs 85.45 per litre in Mumbai, while diesel costs Rs 73.17 per litre.
In the last nine days, petrol prices have been slashed by around 79 paise per litre in Mumbai, while diesel is down nearly 62 paise since May 29.
Prices vary from state-to-state depending on local sales tax or VAT. Delhi has the cheapest price among all metros and most state capitals.
