Wholesale inflation slips to 3.07 percent in April

April WPI was expected to drop to 2.85 percent from 3.20 percent in March, as per a CNBC-TV18's poll. Analysts on average expected the April inflation to moderate on a monthly basis due to a high base.
Wholesale inflation in food rose to 4.95 percent as against 3.89 percent in March. Inflation in food articles hardened with a steep rise in prices of vegetables during April.
Data released by the government showed fuel and power inflation slipped to 3.84 percent as against 5.41 percent in March.
