Maharashtra shuts down Vashi APMC after trader tests positive for COVID-19

The Maharashtra government on Thursday shut down the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) market in Vashi after a trader, who runs a shop at the masala market tested positive for coronavirus.

The Maharashtra government on Thursday shut down the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) market in Vashi after a trader, who runs a shop at the masala market tested positive for coronavirus.


Yesterday, a trader, who runs a shop at the masala market in the APMC in neighbouring Navi Mumbai, had tested positive for coronavirus.

The trader, a resident of Sion in central Mumbai, had got himself tested at a private lab, the official said. The patient had last visited his shop in the masala market on March 21.

The Vashi APMC is the largest supplier of fruit, vegetables, spices and other edible commodities to Mumbai.
