The investments from Saudi Arabia in India remain relatively low despite improved political ties between the two countries.

Prince Salman's trip, if materializes, could take the Indo-Saudi strategic partnership to new heights, the report said citing people familiar with the development.

Mohammad bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, is planning his maiden trip to India and the development could give the poll-bound government a big boost to easing oil prices amid Venezuela crisis, The Economic Times reported.

According to the newspaper, the crown prince told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Saudi Arabia will be investing in the National Infrastructure Fund and also referred to the prospects of investing in the technology, agriculture and energy sectors of the country.

The two leaders met in Buenos Aires last year, where they decided to set up a mechanism to push Saudi investments in energy, technology, food security sectors, among others.
