Officials told the paper that the registration is low despite the centre offering additional benefits to such hospitals.
Out of all the hospitals empanelled under the scheme pan India, 66 percent of the hospitals are not accredited, the report said. Only one percent of the hospitals have been recognised under the National Quality Assurance Programme of the World Health Organisation and Joint Commission International, the report added.
