Old Veerappan lair set to be a tiger den

The hideout of former forest brigand Veerappan, in Male Mahadeshwara hills of southern Karnataka, is now turning into a tiger reserve with almost two dozen big cats prowling around.
Six years after Veerappan den Sathyamangalam became a tiger reserve with 25 big cats, its geographical extension, MM Hills Wildlife Sanctuary with Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary is now emerging as Karnataka’s sixth tiger reserve.
A geographical extension of Sathyamangalam forests, MM Hills is a connecting link between wildlife sanctuaries and tiger reserves of Sathyamangalam, Bandipur, Nagerhole, BR Hills, Cauvery, Muthumalai, Wayanad and Bannerghatta.
