The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said in its financial year 2017-2018 report that one is more likely to come across fake or counterfeit Rs 100 notes, after demonetisation as the currency was more in demand.
The fake Rs 100 notes have surged 35 percent since the previous year.
After demonetisation, that is the banning of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 in November 2016, the data shows that there has been a stop to counterfeiters.
