Sanjay Kumar Mishra, income tax officer, is likely to be named the new Enforcement Directorate chief on Friday, The Times of India reported.
Karnal Singh, current ED chief's term, will expire on Friday and the IPS officer is unlikely to get an extension, the newspaper said. This will be the first time an Indian Revenue Service officer will take over as the ED chief.
Mishra, a 1984-batch income tax officer, is currently the chief commissioner in New Delhi and has wide-ranging experience including in investigation and foreign tax matters, said the report.
