With the centre bracing up for next year’s general elections it is unlikely that they will alienate a key segment such as government and state employees, the report said.
The recent move by the government to announce so many sops including minimum support price (MSP) hike gave hope to the central government employees, the report said adding that an announcement regarding the increase could be made anytime soon.
The tension between around 50 lakh employees and government emerged after the former termed the salary increase recommended by seventh pay commission as insufficient, the report said.
The employees demanded an increase beyond the recommendation asking for a minimum salary of Rs 26,000 along with 3.68 times increase in fitment factor, the report said.
