Data Protection Bill likely to prevent Facebook, WhatsApp, others from sending personal info abroad: report

The Data Protection Bill, seen by TOI, is likely to prohibit cross-border movement of information such as passwords, financial and health data, caste, religious and political beliefs, sexual status and orientation, the report said.
The government hopes to introduce the Bill in the Parliament at the earliest possible opportunity, said the report.
