Kerala finance minister Thomas Issac on Monday criticised the central government’s flood relief of Rs 100 crore by saying that it is not enough for a state which has suffered losses as huge as Rs 8,000 crore due to floods.
Terming the flood situation in Kerala following heavy rains as something never witnessed by the state since independence, home minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday announced Rs 100 crore as immediate central relief.
Total loss of floods to Kerala around ₹8000 crores. Immediate mitigation and rectification expenditure to the state around ₹3000.And the central grant precious ₹100. And that too if it is from regular disaster management fund due to Kerala , I donot know!— Thomas Isaac (@drthomasisaac) August 13, 2018
