CAG's report on Rafale to be tabled in Parliament during Budget session: report

The Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) report on Rafale deal has been finalised and is likely to be tabled in the parliament, The Times of India reported, citing sources, who claimed that the report is expected to be submitted within a week.

According to the TOI sources, the report may not be a standalone one and is likely to be combined with other recent acquisitions under defence.

The CAG's observations may be summarised into a chapter. The regulator will likely look into the 50 percent offset contract given to private parties in India by Dassault, said the report.

CAG took more than a year-and-a-half to review the Rafale deal, said the report, adding that it looked into various aspects such as the pricing, request for proposal received from competitors and comparative pricing of other fighter jets available globally.
