Budget 2019: Women and child development ministry set to get Rs 5,000 crore boost, says report

The ministry, which is associated with Narendra Modi’s flagship schemes such as ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” and Ujjwala Yojana, may see a 20 percent hike in the budget allocation to about Rs 5,000 crore, said the report.
About 90 percent of the allocation to the ministry in the upcoming budget is expected to be targeted towards ‘Anganwadi’ schemes and ‘Poshan Abhiyan’ under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), the report said.
