The six states that will witness the pilot launch of the health scheme are Chattisgarh, Manipur, Haryana, Gujarat, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, the report said citing sources. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech on August 15 will talk extensively on the scheme.
For the pan-India launch, October 2 is being considered, the report said.
Ayushman Bharat aims to extend health care insurance to 100 million families and raise the insurance ceiling to Rs 5 lakh per family.
