Christian Michel, one of the three alleged middlemen being probed in the VVIP chopper scam, has claimed that he had access to the internal discussions of the UPA cabinet and cabinet committee security (CCS) meetings, The Economic Times reported, citing a letter reportedly written by him in 2009 .
In August 2009, Michel allegedly wrote a letter to Giuseppe Orsi, the chief executive officer of AgustaWestland, that revealed 'confidential information', said the report.
The letter spoke about the "power struggle" between the then finance and defence ministers, added the report.
Michel, according to the report, also claimed that he was made aware of the schedule of the CCS meetings two months in advance.
As per the report. Michel, in the letter, informed Orsi that the project was going to be cleared in the October 3 CCS meeting of that year. Michel had promised to AgustaWestland that the deal was going to be finalised by July of that year, added the report.
