Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) on Friday reported a 13.8 percent year-on-year (YoY) jump in net profit at Rs 1,538 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2019.
In the corresponding quarter last year, the company posted a net profit of Rs Rs 1,351 crore. CNBC-TV18 Polls had predicted a profit of Rs 1,645 crore for the quarter under review.
Sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 9,809 crore, up 8.95 percent, as against Rs 9,003 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, HUL said in a regulatory filing. HUL's total expenses for the said period was Rs 7,765 crore compared to Rs 7,181 crore, up 8.13 percent.
Shares of HUL settled at Rs 1,692.80 apiece, down 2.04 percent on the BSE.
