The last movie in Marvel's Avengers series, Avengers: Endgame, released on Friday with more than 5,00,000 bookings in a matter of hours on the first day of pre-booking, according to Box Office India.
The movie is being released in 2D, 3D, IMAX 3D and MX4D. Apart from English, film is also being released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Every ticket is being sold at an average of Rs 300. Taking into account the latest data of the number of movie tickets sold so far, that is 5,00,000. The latest Marvel offering has already made a box office collection of Rs 15 crore.
According to Box Office Mojo, a website that tracks box office revenue, Avengers: Endgame made its debut in Australia with a $7 million collection, the Philippines with $3.9 million, Hong Kong with $2.7 million, Taiwan with $2.6 million, Thailand with $2.4 million, and Malaysia with $2 million. The numbers are all single-day records, the report found.
In Indonesia, with $2.5 million, the movie delivered the largest all-time industry opening day and in Germany with $5.6 million, the film delivered the third-highest opening day in the market.
The movie, according to trade experts and box office prediction reports, Endgame is set to advance to the top, beating all the Bollywood releases so far.
Avengers: Endgame is the peak climax of a series of 22 superhero films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Avengers series consists of almost all Marvel superheroes, which makes every Marvel fan run to the theatres.
The series is war between the Avengers and Thanos, the evil demigod. The movie is set to release in over 2,500 screens, the highest for a Hollywood film in India so far.
It has been directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and the cast comprises of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, among others.
Before the release of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel released Captain Marvel, who is set to play a key role in the latest installment. Captain Marvel is played by Brie Larson and the movie was released in India on March 8, 2019.
Endgame’s predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War, was India's highest Hollywood film grosser, gathering a box office collection of Rs 228 crore.
