Hurricane Dorian batters Bahamas, edges closer to US coast

Hurricane Dorian pounded the Bahamas on Monday, peeling off roofs, snapping power lines and inundating homes with floodwater while creeping toward the US coast, where more than a million people were ordered evacuated.
