Known as the 'first female superstar of Indian cinema', Sridevi was born on August 13, 1963. She was known for her works in the Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film industries. Sridevi has starred in 300 films in a career spanning almost five decades. After an eight-year absence from films, Sridevi made her comeback with Gauri Shinde's "English Vinglish" in 2012. Wife of veteran director Boney Kapoor, Sridevi received various accolades which include National Film Award, the Nandi Award, the Tamil Nadu State Film Award, the Kerala State Film Award, three Filmfare Awards, the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award, and three Filmfare Awards South.
