The "Avengers" finale, Endgame, far exceeded even its own expectations, according to studio estimates done on Sunday. The movie had been forecast to open between $260 million and $300 million in the US and Canadian theaters, but moviegoers turned out in such droves that "Endgame" blew past the previous record of $257.7 million, set last year by "Avengers: Infinity War" when it narrowly surpassed "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" ($248 million or about $266 million in inflation-adjusted dollars.) In India, Avengers: Endgame has sold over 25 lakh tickets in advance bookings, setting the record of highest ever advance ticket sales for a Hollywood movie on BookMyShow. According to Box Office Mojo, a website that tracks box office revenue, Avengers: Endgame made its debut in Australia with a $7 million collection, the Philippines with $3.9 million, Hong Kong with $2.7 million, Taiwan with $2.6 million, Thailand with $2.4 million, and Malaysia with $2 million. The numbers are all single-day records, the report found.
