Will continue to show significant growth in terms of topline and bottomline, says Shalby

Q3 has been a record quarter for Shalby, with the company seeing roughly a 20 percent growth in all parameters like occupancy levels or in-patient and out-patient count, said Shanay Shah, President of the firm.

“Things are going well right now for us, most of the work is coming back and we believe that the next few quarters we will continue to show significant growth in terms of topline as well as bottomline,” Shah said in an interview with CNBC-TV18.

“A lot of non-COVID work came back to us in December,” he said.

“We have reduced the number of COVID beds at the hospitals but if in case there is an emergency and if there is another wave, we are always prepared to convert those beds into COVID beds,” said Shah.

According to him, the emergency footfalls have grown three-fold in the last two-three months compared to the previous quarter. "So those ICU beds are now required for those patients to be treated, that is the reason why most of the beds have been converted,” he said.

In terms of margins, he said, “The margins have come down from 28 percent to 25 percent - that is because the COVID margins are slightly on the higher side because of low usage of consumables and disposables. However, the absolute EBITDA has gone up because the topline increase has been quite significant. It has been in excess of 18 percent.”
