CNBC-TV18’s Mugdha Variyar spoke to Karnataka industries minister Jagadish Shettar and Gaurav Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Karnataka Industries Department, to understand the way forward with Tesla's impending entry into India as well as the latest with respect to the Winstron incident.
“Our officials are in regular touch with those people and now they have only registered their company in Bengaluru, commercial activities they will start and we invited them to establish manufacturing here in Karnataka,” said Shettar.
On the status of Tesla’s R&D unit, Gupta said, “We feel it is a good fit for them. We are confident that we will work closely with them to address all their concerns.”
On Winstron incident, Gupta mentioned, “I am sure the company is working to restore their operations and also to work with the employees to restore the confidence. We are confident that the operations will start very soon.”
