    Rail Neer is run by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a subsidiary under the Indian Railways.

    The Indian Railways may invest heavily to double the production capacity of its bottled water brand, Rail Neer.
    According to The Economic Times, the national transporter will spend as much as Rs 1,000 crore to set up 11 new bottling units.
    Rail Neer is run by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a subsidiary under the Indian Railways.
    As per officials quoted in the report, the demand for bottled water in railway premises across the country is quite high and is growing more than 10% per annum.
    As per officials, the new plants will be set up under public-private partnership (PPP).
    “With these new plants, we will be able to fulfill about 85% of the current demand of 16 lakh litres a day,” an official was quoted saying in the report.
    Officials have stated that tenders will be awarded by the year end for the proposed plants set to be established in Kota, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, Nangal, Vijayawada, Guwahati, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Jabalpur and Bhusawal.
