Indian voters should focus on their future while they vote in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, said Ajay Singh, chairman and managing director, SpiceJet, adding that people should vote for a government that could create jobs for them. “I think voters should focus on their futures, those that will create a strong economy and that will create jobs – a government that creates jobs for all Indians, and a government that ensures that India is going to be one of the leading countries in the world,” said Singh.
Singh said aviation sector will make sure that they play a very strong role in building the new India. “Aviation is about connectivity, it is about economic growth, it is about connecting those areas which have never been connected before and flying is not for the rich alone, it is an integral part of our infrastructure and it is an integral part of our nation-building effort," he added.
Jet Airways crisis was unfortunate and sad, said Singh, calling it a wake-up call for the government and for the whole industry. "We need to make sure that this becomes a wake-up call for the government of India and for our sector and that we make sure that such incidents cannot be repeated. We cannot have an airline which fails every five years and we must take steps to ensure that we build a healthy, viable, sustainable aviation sector,” said SpiceJet's chief.
