Indian carriers increase baggage charges to counter fuel price hike, says report

The increase comes after jet fuel prices saw a 40% increase since January 2017 forcing carriers hike fares and other charges.
carriers such as IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir will now charge Rs 400 per kilogram for baggage that is above the 15 kilogram mark.
Jet Airways, on the other hand hiked excess baggage cost from Rs 400 to Rs 500 per kilogram.
