Some of the senior executives from Jet Airways, who had joined the carrier from Etihad Airlines after the latter bought a majority stake in the struggling airline, are playing significant roles in the fresh negotiations between the two for additional equity and loans, The Economic Times reported.
Renyl Rauf, former head of finance at Etihad who joined Jet earlier this year as senior vice president, and Cramer Ball, who was Jet’s CEO from May 2014 to March 2016, are among the key executives taking part in the discussions, the report said citing two people familiar with the talks.
Rauf is believed to be closely aiding chairman Naresh Goyal in the talks, while Ball is playing an active role from Etihad’s side as the senior advisor in Etihad Aviation Group, the newspaper reported.
According to the report, just like 2012, more executives from the Gulf airline are likely to join Jet in various roles as and when the deal nears.
