AAI issues notices to SpiceJet, Air India arm for non-payment of UDAN levy

Airports Authority of India is also mulling to put the two airlines on cash and carry mode to recover the charges.
A regional connectivity levy of Rs 5,000 per departure is collected by the government from airlines flying from major domestic airports, such as Mumbai and Delhi, to fund its ambitious regional connectivity scheme called UDAN.
