Tata Motors launches Tigor starting at Rs 5.20 lakh: Details here

Homegrown Tata Motors on Wednesday launched the next generation compact sedan Tata Tigor in five variants with upgraded exteriors and will be available in petrol and diesel.

Homegrown Tata Motors on Wednesday launched the next generation compact sedan Tata Tigor in five variants with upgraded exteriors and will be available in petrol and diesel.


For petrol, the car will be available in five variants — XE, XM, XZ, XZA and XZ+. The prices (ex-showroom price, Delhi) for petrol cars in these five variants are as follows — Rs 5,20,000; Rs 5,55,000; Rs 5,95,000; Rs 6,65,000 and Rs 6,49,000, respectively.

For diesel, the car will be available in four variants — XE, XM, XZ and XZ+. The prices (ex-showroom price, Delhi) for diesel cars in these variants are as follows — Rs 6,09,000; Rs 6,41,000; Rs 6,84,000 and Rs 7,38,000.

The petrol variants of the new Tigor are powered by 1.2 litre engine, while the diesel trims come with 1.05 litre powertrain.

On the exteriors, the new Tigor comes with break free coupe-like roofline and dual chamber projector headlamps with chrome finish. The 15-inch alloy wheels will be offered in dual tone colour scheme and the outside rearview mirrors have LED turn indicators with auto fold function. The car will be available in Egyptian Blue, Roman Silver, Espresso Brown, Berry Red, Pearlescent White and Titanium Grey.

Apart from the luxurious feel, the car comes with a seven-inch capacitive infotainment with Android Auto from HarmanTM, four speakers, four tweeters, aiming for a surround sound experience.

On the safety side, the new Tigor has an energy absorbing body structure, dual airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and corner stability control (CSC).

"The compact sedan segment has been an important space for customers seeking premium-ness at best value coupled with bold and attractive looks," said Guenter Butschek, chief executive officer and managing director, Tata Motors.
