Bajaj Auto on Friday said its motorcycles sales in October 2019 fell 14 percent as against the same month of last year.
Although, exports rose three percent, total motorcycles sales remained at 3,98,913 units, down eight percent.
Bajaj Auto said its commercial vehicle sales too fell 13 percent while exports dropped 21 percent. In total, the company sold 4,63,208 units, a drop of nine percent over October of 2018.
Rakesh Sharma, executive director, Bajaj Auto told CNBC-TV18, “Post festive season, the sales do drop."
Talking about the upcoming months, Sharma said, "There is a natural down cycle which we will now hit. Therefore, I won't say that we would see similar kind of numbers, but yes, this festival has served as a very good trigger to bottom out what industry was experiencing.”
