Motown Sentimeter: Nitin Gadkari promises to take up GST cut issue with FM

Road and transport minister Nitin Gadkari made reassuring statements like he would take up the industry's demand for GST reduction to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers' (SIAM) 59th annual convention is underway where a host of industry experts have discussed ways to revive the domestic automobile sector.


Road and transport minister Nitin Gadkari made reassuring statements like he would take up the industry's demand for GST reduction to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The government is getting  ready to announce infrastructure projects worth Rs 5 lakh crore which should boost demand for commercial vehicles, he added.

Rajan Wadhera, president of SIAM, Shashank Srivastava, ED, Maruti Suzuki, CV Raman, Senior Executive Director (Engineering) of Maruti Suzuki, Venu Srinivasan, Chairman of TVS Motor Company, Pawan Goenka, MD of Mahindra and Mahindra and Anuj Kathuria, COO of Ashok Leyland, shared their views and outlook on the sector and their respective companies.
